Frequently Asked Questions

Continue reading below for answers to the following frequently asked questions about the administrative account migration to SecureCenter:

Why are Data Planet administrative accounts moving to SecureCenter?

Data Planet joined SAGE Publishing in January 2018, combining the power of Data Planet’s statistical data with SAGE’s expertise, infrastructure, and global research. As a natural part of this integration, Data Planet’s administrative accounts will now be transitioned from the portal where they are currently housed to SAGE’s SecureCenter, a centralized repository for all SAGE customer information and reporting.

When will the migration of the administrative accounts occur?

This move of Data Planet is already underway with an expected completion date of March 31, 2019.

Will there be a period of dual access?

Yes. There will be a dual access period from March 31, 2019 through May 31, 2019 on both the Data Planet platform and SecureCenter.
However, there are some important things to note:

After March 31, 2019, all changes will need to be made via SecureCenter and the Data Planet administrative accounts will become read-only.  Account administrators will be able to view but not edit the following within the Data Planet administrative accounts:

On the Profile Tab:

  • Username, first name, last name, organization, phone number, IP ranges, passwords
  • Users will be able to view usage

On the Branding Tab:

  • Logo and logo related options

On the Links Tab:

  • Links (including any previously entered menu names and URLs),
  • Administrators will not be able to save new links, or clear existing links.

After May 31, 2019, all Data Planet administrative account information and usage statistics will only be available via SecureCenter, and the administrative accounts will no longer be accessible on the Data Planet platform.

What are the benefits of having my Data Planet administrative account information within SecureCenter?

For those customers with existing subscriptions to SAGE products, your new Data Planet administrative account will be merged with your existing SecureCenter account. You will then have a single, unified account for all administrative tasks for SAGE and CQ Press online library resources, including:

  • CQ Press Library
  • CQ Researcher
  • SAGE Business Cases
  • SAGE Knowledge
  • SAGE Research Methods
  • SAGE Stats
  • SAGE Video

Additionally, you will benefit from having:

  • Availability of both COUNTER R4 and COUNTER R5 usage statistics in one convenient location
  • A user-friendly interface providing custom settings and more robust contact and authentication fields

What do I need to do?
