Browsing Datasets in Data Planet

To explore datasets on immigration in Data Planet, log into the repository and use any of the following methods to get to the datasets:

From the Homepage

Browse by Source

Upon logging in, you'll likely find yourself on the homepage of Data Planet. Simply look for the box that starts with "Browse data by..." and click on "Source" as depicted in the screen grab provided:

Once you're on the Source tab, you can click on "U" in the alphabetical listing to narrow down the list of sources to those beginning with the letter "U" or begin typing parts of your desired source names to filter the list as you type:

One of two arrows pointing to the row of the alphabet, which one can click in order to filter the list of sources shown to the selected letter. Another arrow points at the text search field, which narrows down the list of sources that show up based on the letters and words typed. In this example, "homela" is typed into the box, and the search results narrowed down to 1 of 92 sources: United States Department of Homeland Security.

Browse by Subject

Should you prefer to go by subject, that's possible to do, too! Simply look for the "Browse data by..." area on the homepage, which already shows the subjects by default. Click on your desired subject and check out the results that surface!
